Woke up this morning to read the old newspaper...

Looks like we're skirting the fine line between life and death at the moment. That's what our roster says too. We just don't have enough active, organised people and there's only so much herding of cats you can do. In my last town, there was loads of activity. Loads and loads of forum posts and I believe that that town is still going. Frankly, I'd be surprised if we lasted 2 more nights.
What happens is that the zombies get progressively more each night, so you have to keep building up your defenses to keep up with the rising tide. If we're barely scraping through the first night, I feel like we're already behind the curve.
Here's tonights information:
So we're looking at 60 odd zombies with only 55 defenses. Lets hope we finish the projects we're working on otherwise we'll have a few more picked off tonight. With less people each day, there's less people to go out scavenging for precious materials on a daily basis with which to build defenses. It's a slippery slope. I also found out last night that the zombie nightly movement only lasts a couple of hours. So I moved off into the wilderness and scavenged all night. When I checked back, I had more stuff to take back than I could carry. In this case, you mark the zone as having stuff there, and hope that someone else will come along and pick it up later.
The icon that looks like a little collection of stones means that the zone has been depleted. That's bound to happen quickly close by to town. The rucksack symbol means someone has marked that they found something that they couldn't get home. And the colored squares means zombies. Yellow squares are just a smattering, orange are 3 or 4 and red is a horde.
There are ways to kill zombies out in the wild but I've not done that yet and I'm not desperate enough to try!
